Year 3 Stone Age Day

Year 3 Stone Age Wow Day Year 3 began their topic with a ‘Wow!’ experience, taking on the role of archaeologists to piece together clues and discover what it was like to live in the Stone Age. During the day, the children discovered Stone Age poo, full of nutritious foods from the Stone Age period. They then went to Forest School to search for ancient cave paintings, finding out about how cave people communicated, hunted and the animals they might have come across. Finally, the children became inventors and tried their hands at carving tools and weapons from a modern day alternative to stone (soap). It was an exciting way for the children to throw themselves into our topic and we look forward to exploring it more over the coming weeks.  Please use the topic letter we sent out to investigate areas at home.
