Vision, Values and Ethos

Oldbury Park is a large community primary school situated in St John’s, a pleasant residential area of Worcester, for children aged from 4 to 11 years.

VISION, VALUES AND ETHOS

Working Together to Learn..

..is the way we approach everything at Oldbury Park.

We continually strive to provide a stimulating environment in which children learn relevant skills and values to enable them to lead a fulfilled life in a rapidly changing world, both during their time at Oldbury Park and for the rest of their lives.

We believe every child is unique and deserves to be treated and respected as an individual.  This influences all that we do.  We aim for all children to acquire a sense of wonder at their world and to develop positive beliefs and values.

Through our ‘Skills for Life and for Learning’, children are encouraged to get the most out of every opportunity and interaction in order to help them move forward in their learning.  These skills include Respect, Collaboration, Communication, Concentration, Perseverance and Independence.  The staff is committed to providing exciting learning opportunities through a creative curriculum which is based on child-chosen topics, along with many extra-curricular activities.

Above all, we strive for everyone in our School Community to feel as if they belong, through our inclusive approach.

Overall Expectations

Ultimately, we want every child to leave this school equipped to take on, and cope with, the many varied opportunities and responsibilities life will offer them. We have high expectations of our staff and children and want each individual to reach their potential by meeting everyone’s individual needs.  Liaison and links with parents, governors and other local schools are essential parts of this vision.
