Year 4

"We aim for children to be good listeners, lovers of learning, to be well accustomed with our six key skills and to be ready for the Year 5 curriculum by the time that they leave us."

Welcome to Year 4!

In Year 4, we aim to prepare children for Upper Key Stage 2 by providing them with the necessary skills for learning, such as independence, good listening skills and teamwork. Our curriculum has lots of opportunities for children to be creative and curious, including outdoor learning linking to our Nature’s Homes topic and lots of Science experiments which children will be investigating throughout the year. Our topic work often links to the skills we will be learning in English, allowing the children to become fully immersed in their learning.

Throughout the year, the children will also continue to develop their understanding of our six key skills and further discuss how they can be implemented into daily activities. Swimming will also take place weekly this year, giving the children a new experience at school.

Our Year 4 teachers are Miss Moule and Mrs Iqbal and the adults who support our learning are Mrs Sheppard, Mrs Smyrska and Mrs Doughty.
