Reception and Year 1’s Fun Afternoon

On Tuesday, the children in Reception and Year 1 joined together to have a transition afternoon with fun activities. They worked in mixed groups to have a go at Computing, Big building and Outdoor Learning. Look out for more news on Weekly Words on Friday.

Computing Week in Reception

For Computing Week, Reception had the opportunity to work with students from the University of Worcester to learn about Beebots and how to program them. The children practised using directional language, such as forwards, backwards, left and right, to get the Beebots to travel to different images on the mat. The children really enjoyed it!

Reception’s Butterflies! During the last week of term, Reception were really excited to see that some butterflies had emerged from the cocoons! Reception Caterpillars Update!

This week, our caterpillars have been busy making their cocoons. They are hanging from the top of the pot and are very delicate. We are waiting for the cocoons to harden before we transfer them into a butterfly net. The children are having to be very patient!  What do you think is going to happen
